I bought my 79 L-82 last year when a forum member posted an ad in the C3 for sale section. The price was right and a big plus was that he lived fairly close by.
It does tend to be a tougher crowd here, and just like most other car buyers many will look to pay bargain price for an excellent car- according to a couple of friends who had listed their C3's in the FS section.

"You wouldnt sell cheaper to a buddy? And don't forget we're all friends on here"
At least thats probably the mentality of a lot of people trying to buy a Vette on here. Thinking about posting my girl in the for sale section but im afraid of what everyone would say and try to knock the price down to because of "this and that"
List one on eBay and watch the views jet past 1000 with no bidders. A few reasons I look, but am not buying YET... my current project is not complete. It is therefore not ready to sell to finance my next acquisition. I am only "allowed" one keeper car at a time. I look at cars for sale so I have can follow price trends: the market does fluctuate some. I get ideas for my own use from viewing other's work. I won't wase a seller's time with inane questions since I'm not truly in the market, but I do have "valid" reasons to go shopping.
30? That's nothing. My '73 Chevy truck with a big block and needs NOTHING is priced very well. It's listed on Racingjunk.com. 2,200 hits and no offers. Everyone keeps telling me how nice it is, and... if I only had the money, ...etc, etc. It's just a sign of the times.
Why are people so worried about posting here and not getting responses, (after 30 hits???) or even worse, getting nickled and dimed on the price? When did everyone get so sensitive?
Got a car for sale? Post it here and use pictures. If people dont offer to buy, maybe the price is too high. If people are low-balling you... guess what... you don't have to sell. It a FREE ad. What skin off your nose is it to just list it and roll the dice?
Honestly I will never understand the people on this forum that wont utilize a FREE national ad with as many photos as they want, who hesitate because "I'm afraid what people might say???" Are you serious?
Just trade your cars in on a nice Prius or a maybe a Miata.
I'm at 17,235 views, 225 replies, and still haven't sold the vette yet. Be patient. The right buyer will come eventually. I am amazed it's taken this long though.

I was wondering about that myself. Do people on the Forum actually buy a car for sale here or are they just fishing for info to rate their own car?
I have 2 very nice C3's I want to sell because I am moving out of state but have hesitated posting the vehicles here for the reason you noted.[/QUOTE]
I am here for two reasons, to learn about C3 corvettes and to buy a C3 as i would prefer to buy from someone that i can communicate with on here and see its history through the members posts about there cars and i dont trust anything on ebay. I sold a bike there recently to a scammer.
I beleive you get what you pay for and am happy to pay full asking price if the car is in good nik.
Chris
I have sold one on here (in about 7 hours time) and bought 2 on here. Don't sweat it. The market is a bit soft right now so don't expect a premium price
I should have left the tread on here and let it fly for what it was but basically I was just asking for some price advice. I want to sell my car and haven't a clue on starting price. I'm just going to wing-it out there on Flea Bay and see what happens.
I posted pic's and a description of the car and had 30 hits and not one response .

I posted a wanted ad. It was for local car/no project. I got a few responses, but from 1500 to 3000 miles away. You have to remember this is a national/international site. Distance is a big factor. It is for me!
My '72 LT-1 with A/C is posted for sale on here now. But it's also on *bay, where I expect more action. I did sell my C6 to a forum member last year, fairly quickly. And my '78 pace car on *bay, prior to that, for a high price. So I have faith in both. I've gotten nothing but nice comments from CF members here since posting it last week, which reassures me that I'm asking a fair price (for such a rare car).
I'm an NCRS member, and it doesn't appear that they permit anyone to post anything for sale on the NCRS web site. I don't understand that. It must be so that they can force people to use the "Driveline". Sure, I'm gonna wait a couple of months to make the next issue....
