'79 AC blowing fuses

'79 AC blowing fuses
After running about 20 minutes the fuse will blow. I tried a little bit bigger fuse and it still does it. I can hear a little bearing noise in the compressor. My theory is that as the bearing heat up, it causes the fuse to blow? Any help appreciated!

I would not put in a larger fuse. If you want to test your theory, remove the belt and turn the ac on. It will only activate the clutch, but with no belt, the suspected bearing will not overheat. Regardless, if you have a bearing noise I would fix it. If its just the clutch bearing it can be changed with the right tools and a little patience. If that bearing goes, it could throw your belts and/or send something through the hood.

Bearing noise in the compressor has nothing to do with that fuse. The fuse is for the Blower. It may also run the clutch on the compressor, but that either works or it doesn't. You can replace the blower or get a little oil on the bearings. I would recommend just upgrading to a C4 blower assy and be done with it
