On A Mission
I will have 5 days available starting next Friday. I want to strip my 68. I have read several post on this forum about this. I will delivering the car to the body shop and removing it there. I would like to save some labor and deliver it 90% stripped. I have a couple questions.
1-In your opinion is five day enough time?
2-Is there a water based stripper that can be used?
3-Should I use Air-Craft stripper and lacquer thinner?
4-What products (Brand Name) have you had the best results with?
I will use the correct face shield, gloves, mask, respirator, and coveralls. (Thanks Dub)

I had the original paint on my 69 and stripped it in a couple days. I did not use mineral spirits or their product to remove the paint. I applied the CitruStrip and waited an hour or so. I used a plastic scrapper that you use to apply filler to scoop the paint off - filled up 2 1/2 cottage cheese containers with Riverside Gold Paint!!! Then I used a spray bottle filled with water. I sprayed the area with water, then used green scotch brite pads to neutralize the CitruStrip and remove the remaining paint goo!
If you have more than one coat of paint - totally different story. It Will take longer.
