Thanks Gav, now I'll have a dry lonely time here if they take your advice!.

So, I'm in Anaheim Hills Best Western until Monday morning, when I'm off on a secret mission to Lasvegastan to inspect the living conditions in a hot desert climate, where I'll be surrounded by crazy local inhabitants whose sole purpose in life is to lure you into a room full of bright lights and ringing bells then remove as much money as they can from you. It's a hard job but someone's gotta do it

While I'm there, I'll be spending a bit of time at the SEMA show at the LV Convention Center. Gav, if there's anything you want that's both legal and small enough to bring home in my suitcase, let me know.

After Vegas, I'm off to Fremont and Lodi where I'll be staying with friends for a few weeks. If anyone wants to ring up and say Hi, call me on 714-814-0514.

Regards from Dow.....er "Up Over."

Randy I was going to Email you but, have been busy. John will be here a few days after SEMA then Thanksgiving week, flying out that Sunday. We need to decide where to have a lunch or dinner (not a big fan of Hooters myself.) Maybe a drive South to hook up with Don/JoAnne too. Let me know what is good for people in the area. Work has been busy and I'm busy getting Lori's C6 Z registered in the Rebulik of Kalifornia.

Default Departure time update

G'day,

Just to let everyone know, my departure date is November 25 at 11:30 p.m. out of San Francisco International. I intend to be in Fremont November 7-9, in Lodi from Nov. 9-16 and in Fremont again from Nov. 16 to 25. That way I have a full weekebd in both Lodi and Fremont. I would love to stay for Thanksgiving, but I have to start work Nov 29 and I'll lose a day going back to Australia.

I'd like to see as many of you as possible, and I'm on the lookout for a '74 or '75 convertible, preferably manual, so let me know if you're aware of one ( or very similar ) for sale.

Regards from Up Over

Been to Hooters twice in the past couple months, so there's another nay vote someplace in the south bay works, unfortunately I'm not too familiar with that area

Santa Clara Corvettes has their TGIF get together at Bennigans Nov 19th Friday between 5:00PM-8:00PM, I'll probably drag John to that. Bennigans is at 4150 Great America Parkway by the 101 Freeway in Santa Clara. Might also drag him to Carrows for the Thursday night meeting of the autocross racers haven't been to that one for quite a while. Also have the San Jose Classic Chevy club Xmass toy drive on Nov 20th for a car show. Here is a link to all the events in November: http://www.sanjosechevys.org/calendar.htm

Default Starbucks

G'day,
I've just returned from the GTG at Starbucks. Saw plenty of nice Corvettes and one beautiful Chevelle Malibu convertible. WOW!!! Also plenty of nice people who made me quite welcome and I even got a ride in a new Callaway supercharged Vette. How about 710 horsepower after some tuning from DM? I even had a short drive.

That HAS to go down as the most powerful car I've ever driven!!! Thanks Jeff.

Yesterday I went to the NHRA Museum at the LA County Fairgrounds and apart from the usual display of historic drag racing cars and motorcycles, they had a loan of Jay Leno's Tank Car. Don't tell anyone, but I touched one of the tyres, despite the "DO NOT TOUCH CAR" signs everywhere. I've had a mental fantasy about this car ever since I first heard about it, but didn't think I'd ever get to see it. I've met Jay, but would never try to tell anyone that the two of us are in any way close enough for me to try to get an invitation to visit his "toyroom" in Burbank.

But anyone can pay the $8.00 admission to the NHRA Museum and see the car in the flesh, just don't leave it too long or it will be replaced by something else. Due to the fact that there is a big NHRA meet on in Las Vegas this weekend, there were not too many folks in the Museum and I had a pretty good run of the place.

Tomorrow, it's off to Lasvegastan and Iwill write more from there.

Regards from Up Over

Aussiejohn, I have a 1975 4-speed convertible that will be for sale. Numbers matching, I've owned it for 30 years, time for a change. PM for details if interested. I live in south Orange county.
