In my AIM the relay found in the consol is called the Alarm Relay but at Wilcox the same relay is called the power window relay. Does anybody know which it is and were I can find one? Does this relay cross referance to another car?
For the 79s, power windows were optional. The relay might mount under the console as shown in the AIM. The theft alarm was standard equipment and it's relay might also be under the console.
Call Willcox, tell them what you need, and they'll fix you up with the correct relay.
Thanks for the info. I am working on the doors and I don't have 12 volts at th power lock or windows. I thought it might be the relay but maybe not. electrical is not my strong suit.
Thanks for the schematic I am looking for the relay for the Alarm. Also I have seen the switch for the alarm on other cars in the fender. My 79 does not have that switch nor can I find a switch any where in the car. I know that this may seem like a dumb question but I need to know where the switch is located on the 79. I am biulding this car from the ground up and it is my first rebiuld.

The alarm switch is incorporated into your drivers side door lock. The system can only be armed by locking the drivers door with the key, and disarmed by using the key to unlock it.
77-80 use the same anti-theft relay. They sell for about $50 and should be available from most Corvette parts vendors.
The anti theft relay is mounted in the shift console on the metal upright support... On the rear driver side of it. If you remove the shift console side panel on the drivers side you will see it! Gb nailed it too! The only switch on the 1979 was the attached to the driver side door lock. On later cars there was a switch on both door locks. Late 77 to 79 it was only the drivers side.
I have a picture of the lock and switch, but not on this machine... Sorry... I'll check later when I get home.
