Seatbelt bracket covers

Do the seatbelt bracket covers go over or under the carpet ?

Cruise-In II Veteran

Might depend on the model year. Do you have the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? They are under the carpet on my 68 and my 80, but they might be over the carpet for other years.

I have a 74 . the covers were over the old carpet. I put the new carpet over them. Cant tell either way the seat covers them anyway..

I looked at the AIM...........hard to tell ! I'm putting in the rear seatbelts from a '96 or so Firebird, so I think I will just leave them out. They are just to keep dirt out of the factory retracker....right.
