Default 75 Hardtop hardware

Hello everyone,

Just want to introduce myself a bit; I am new to the forum and cant wait to post pics of my 1975 Convertible Stingray. The car has been in the family since 76 and I have always had the pleasure of rembering my childhood as my father drove me and my brother around in the car top down all the time. I was born in 81 so being the youngest I now want to fix the car back up for my OLD MAN he is 65 and I owe him everything in the world. Mostly I would like to have many more eternal memories driving around with him in the car again.

BTW I got hooked reading an awesome resto thread by STINGER... That is what I would like to do but dont want to wait to long so my Pops and I can enjoy it together for several years... then It will undergo the extensive restoration as it deserves.

Ok so now for some advice please. I want to make the hardtop easy to remove and secure. So I would like to ask if I could use the softtop hardware (the rear bow bolt and secure that to the bow locks)? I only have the hardtop for now and the only hardware that I have for it are the three latches that attach it to the windshield frame. I am going to restore the hartop and want to order all the necessary hardware and not get junk that wont work for it.

If you have the bolts for the sides of the hard top mounted on the deck lid, using them along with the standard tapered tip soft top pins for the top of the deck lid and the 3 latches you should be good to go.
If you do not have the bolts for the sides, a short piece of 3/8 -16 all thread and a couple fender washers and nuts will bolt the top down securely thru the deck lid bezels where the soft top pins would go.
Some will say to just use the soft top pins and you are good to go. I guess that will depend on how well you can get them adjusted. How many times have you twisted the car enough to make the pins on a soft top pop loose?

Two people can remove/install the hardtop without too much troube. I wouldn't try it with just one person.
