It's just like a crazy concept car taken to production with almost no watering down.
The laws of aerodynamic and interior space consideration can go to hell, C3's are outrageous and thus timeless.
Today no car maker would have the guts to mass produce a design as outlandish as this, people would be like "Wait, the fenders are blocking the view, WTF"
Blocking the view? The fenders are the view!

.. and I always make sure to tell someone who has never driven a C3 to add 3 or so feet onto what you think is the front of the car.

When I bought my C3 I had never been in a C4 and never really liked the look of the C4. My pastor recently bought a '92 vert so I took it for a drive. I hated climbing over the wall sized door sill, then the wrap around style dash turned me off, the steering was horrible compared to my C3 (my opinion). In short, I was underwhelmed, it has nice power, but that will be remedied in my C3 soon, and much easier than in a C4. I must say his looks great for a C4, but just not for me.

Both the C2 and C3 were crazy concept cars taken to production by people with ***** of steel. And it shows. Both cars look amazing. The fenders are the view!

$2000 later my suspension is just fine, your C4 is always gonna look like that.

I had a C3, C4 and a C5 coupe. All great vettes! I really enjoyed them all. But, when I think of a Corvette the C3 is what comes to mind. I sold all three and purchased my current C5 Z06. I just recently picked up a 75 and a 74 Corvette. I bought the 75 L48/auto non ac car, as a project because I couldn't find another 4 speed car. Well I found the 74 L48/4 speed. I will start on the 74 when the 75 is finished. The 75 will be sold want's it's completed.
