Hooker sidepipe mufflers
I've just ordered the Hooker sidepipe exhaust for my 1978 but did not order the mufflers yet. All the sites I've been to don't give the information I'm looking for. I'm looking for a good rumble but don't want the open header sound. Do I want the 2" or the 2.5" mufflers???
Thanks Jackie

The 2" glass packs are rather restrictive if you have a performance engine. The 2-1/2 Max Flo's have very little restriction, but are a little louder.
IMO, the Max Flo's are the best sounding muffler avaliable.

I am a BIG fan of the STS baffles. They are even so good that I was able to re-use them in my new side tubes I just got. If I wasn't going for raped-ape performance, I'd probably go with the stock Corvette side exhaust - for me there is no in between.

STS baffles x4. Free flowing. Sound good when I get on it but can hear the radio at cruise with top down.

If you have Hookers, go with STS baffles without question. I loved the sound with my '68.
