Differential Lube Needed
I'm sending out my differential for a rebuild. Any ideas on a good gear oil to use? I've heard that one of the new synthetics might be a good choice and if so would the postitraction additive still be required?

I've used 80/90 weight gear oil with one 4 0z bottle of GM posi lube for close to 40 years in my old Corvette rear ends. Never had a failure, yet. The rear end has never been out of my 65 since new.

Gary told me to use Lucas 85W-140 and 4 Oz of GM posi additive when he rebuilt my differential.
He told me to stay away from the synthetics. I was running synthetic in the rear end before. I swapped it out after 500 miles and wil lbe doing my 5,000 mile drain & refill this winter.

. GM lube with their additive - even though I have used Kendall's additive in a pinch.
