Reinstalling the IP and steering column this evening. I had to bring the bracket which the column hangs from as far forward as it would go to gain clearance between the column and semi circle on the IP. Not sure I am maintaining the 0.030 clearance specified in the AIM. The panel may be lightly resting on the column.
Has anybody had the same experience? Anybody had the opposite experience, column positioned low? Only adjustment I know of is the sliding bracket. I could shim the column but shouldn't be necessary.
Left had air duct was a tight fit as well. Seems impossible to install after the IP is installed. Very little room back there.
My vehicle is an early 70, short wiring harness, similar to 69.
