I have the new wire conduits that go between the body of the car and the doors that the power window wires run thru. One end of the rubber conduit has about a 30 degree angle and the other end doesn't. Anyone know which end hooks to the door and which hooks to the body? Thanks
I looked at my 69 and they are cracked, so I got out the NOS ones I have. I see the angle you are talking about. I would think it wouldn't matter which piece you put that on, either way it gets bent in half when the door is closed. Just orient the angle right and it shouldn't matter. I personally would put the angle on the body.
Upon closer examination of my NOS ones, the one grommet on the backside has a "locating" nub molded on it. Does one of your holes have a locating notch in it? On the NOS piece it is behind the "angled" grommet. My guess is one hole has a notch in it so the grommet is placed correctly. My 69 AIM shows a projection at the body side of the tube pointed towards the front of the car. Email me if you need a pic, are your's repro's? Later.........................Bruce
Here is what I have, the tubes have a lot of flash on them. Where the tube is hidden in the door and body the tube is only half a tube. The nub I have pointed out in the pics. The second pic makes sense that the half tubes are oriented in a way that the wire would flow from body to door, and wires would be accessible to user. Hope this helps.
If there is indeed a true notch on the pillar, then it goes in that way. GM has a way of indexing things that way.
I just know that when door is closed it is bent in half, so maybe it's irrelevant how it goes..............
