I am over in the C5 Forum, but I thought I would post something of interest to the other members here in the C3 section. A friend of mine has put together a couple of creations certainly worthy of acknowledgment. He is a skilled craftsman who certainly pays attention to detail!
Ralph is currently working on an IMSA AAGT Vintage legal serial numbered C3 Corvette to run in the Vintage race circuit.
SPECS
Tube chassis/4 link/ corvette brakes/ Dana 44/coil overs/4 spd/ full cage/fuel safe fuel cell. It is currently in the fabrication stage right now. Plans are for BBC 700+ hp at a 2500lb curb weight. This is the "mold" car. The fiberglass panels will be constructed from this car with a plan for full or partial fiberglass body kits to be available this spring as well as complete turnkey cars. These versions can be made street legal as well.
He built and ran a Mongoose 1963 Grand Sport Coupe this year which ran and did very well in the vintage class in Calgary. This new project is the next generation Corvette super car of the '70's.
The C3 Corvette wide body cars ran in the GT Class/AAGT Class (IMSA) against Brumo porches and the other competitors in the 1970's.
Is the "mold car" going to be a street car? Both the "mold car" and the Grand Sport look to have the same tires which appear to be a far cry from 15s (maybe Kumho Ecsta XSs?). That's not the tires they race on are they? Anyway both cars are very cool. Thanks for posting.

I used to help crew for a friend who ran a C3 widebody in IMSA for several years. Last time I was in his garage he still had a bunch of varied width 15" wheels on the shelf. PM me if that's of any use or interest.
