About to take the leap into re-doing the interior carpet....wish me luck!
Was planning to roll down to Lowe's to get some Reflectix, but saw this stuff at Willcox. It's 2x as much, but looks pre-cut and perhaps has some backing/padding. Anyone had any experience with it?

I used Reflectix alone and it killed my heat problem. I do wish I had done some noise treatment at the same time though. That does not look like a bad deal at all... if they are cut right and fit properly.

One thing to think about: Is your C3 an auto or a 4-speed? With new carpet and a layer of Reflectix under it, seems I have only half as much space between brake pedal and the accelerator than I used to. I can't drive it with big tennis shoes on - I drive with Crocs instead b/c they are not as wide.
Years ago there was a thread showing a guy with this prob that had actually cut an inch off his brake pedal & found a new pad for it at Kragen. My solution is easier; just using a different pair of shoes when I drive the Vette.
OTOH, if you have a four speed then your brake pedal won't give you this grief. My point is, that if your car is an auto and you get that kit, remove the extra padding behind that area of the carpet so there's room for your shoe to fit in there. Just new carpet and a layer of Reflectix was enough to cause a problem for me.
Don't kid yourself. The Willcox precut is not TOTALLY precut. You need to do a lot of trimming. Save your existing carpet for a pattern. I didn't have existing carpet and it took a little extra time to cut & fit (several times). There is extra padding attached and the pieces are somewhat pre-formed. you willl need to push & shove to get them in place. I put down a dynamat type insulation first. It makes the carpet installation thicker and you need to select a spray adhesive that will stick to an aluminum film finish. Take you time and it will look good.

i used refectix and "stainless" tape on all the joints and it worked like a charm. it's not all that tough to do as it works well with a razor blade knife and the product laid down in the areas you wish to cover. i guess it comes down to how lazy you might be as to pre-cut or not. personally, i wouldn't waste the money on a "pre-cut" package vs. using the stuff from a roll and cutting it yourself. not exactly rocket science and probably the "pre-cut" stuff doesn't save you much time if any when it is all said and done.
this is my next project. I was looking at the pre cut kit from mad vette. I was going to do this during the down time of sending my headers out to get coated by jet hot. is there a major price difference between reflectix and a pre cut?
I haven't used Reflectix or Dynamat and went off a recommendation to use Hushmat. The sound dampening is excellent and it absolutely killed my cabin heat problem. Even with a new BB and the additional heat, I am much cooler in the cabin than with my old SB and no Hushmat. I lined the trans tunnel and the firewall with it.
I just did my carpet. I bought the insulation from Mad Vette. It is pre cut ,but you do have to do some trimming. A few in the forum mentioned about using the duct insulation ( Frost King ) from Lowe's. 18.00 a row and I used 4 roll. It has the rubber self adhesive and the foil on the other side. That's my poor man dynamat. Seems to work out. I have heat coming out of my vents so I have to put the cut off valve to stop water going to the heater core. Once I do that, my cabin should be cool.
