I guess for some there is great enjoyment in preserving a specialty or collector car but now that he is selling it he probably wishes he had bought gold as an investment instead of a car. I would probably have enjoyed fondling my gold as much as looking in the garage at the car. And investment gain would be much more.

I agree.
I can't imagine have a car that cool and not being able to drive it.
I'd rather fondle gold than to have to look at a cool car that I can't use.

That is a beautiful car, but one would feel obligated to not drive it and that is a shame.
I was lucky enough to snag a 25k mile car that is original and has matching numbers- but I actually drive it more than I drive my 2008 Z51 coupe. I have wanted a 78 PC since I saw them new when I was 15 and now that I have one I am driving it...even if it is powered my a smogger L48

Yanno... there's a lot you can do to the L48 internally - where no one can ever see it - to wake that beast up.
Love these really low miler cars such as this. Fun to read about and look at. Thanks for posting it. Course if it was mine, I would be spinning that old odometer daily and there goes the "low mile" value.
