R title question
Happy Thanksgiving all. Found this good looking 79 auto with 82K at a local car lot that was dropped off for owner of lot to sell. After having the car put on lift for inspection the frame has no rust and the underside looks unmolested. The 65 yr old seller who put 1500 miles in 7 yrs said he did not know the car has an r title but was told by previous owner that car was stolen from South Carolina and recovered in New York and would sell for 4k. What are your thoughts?

I would say that as long as you get it cheap and don't mind the challenge and loss when you sell it, just buy it on the merrits of the car and drive it. Just be prepared to sell it for parts car money. 79s aren't that high priced anyways so I'd say $4k should get you a very nice salvage title car.
