If you don't do it yourself who do you use to put new exhaust manifolds and a new exhaust system on your car? 2011 thing for me. One Ram's Horn will be replaced, cracked, and I haven't decided yet between 2-1-2 with high flow cat converter or straight duals.
You may have to search around in your area for a muffler shop that has experience with performance exhaust and working with older cars. Sometimes you can actually find such a person at your local Midas (or Meineke) shop, but don't count on it. In my case, based on many recommendations, I drove over an hour to take my car to a shop that I knew did quality work.
I think you are on the right track. I wasted a lot of time and money trying to do it myself, ending up with a wobbly clamped system that would hang too low and scrape on the street, flex-hose from the headers, exhaust tips that would regularly get blown off when the car backfired! due to having exhaust leaks. Ahhhh the good ol days!
An exhaust system is a really easy job to do yourself. It's all nuts & bolts. The only fab work would be if you decide to go with the X pipe that needs to be cut & welded in. Corvette Central has nice, correct fitting systems.
Just a thought.

I saw that on the computer...Corvette Central and Mid AMerica both seem to have "off road systems." Will start searching out a shop that can replace a header and install the pipes and mufflers as well. I think I'd like the duals and get the government's cat. converter out of there.
