I just installed a new accelerator pedal lever (68-69E has a separate bolt-on piece to the pedal rod, that the cable hooks up to). I have a 69 L46-350/350, 4sp, ac, ps/pb with a Q-Jet #7029207, newly rebuilt and runs perfect, then the old lever broke. I know the lever was bending because I was increasingly losing speed and pedal travel over the past year, then it just cracked.
Can someone please tell me a basic procedure I can follow to be sure I get the total stroke out of the pedal, from idle to full tilt boogie? Note: I put an adjustable stop on the lever end of the cable (same as what's used on the hood release cable), so I can adjust the length of the cable.
