Default Holley date code question

I have a 1968 427/400 with the Hydra-matic transmission and have been trying to make a record of various part numbers and ID codes. The center carb was replaced during the restoration process with an aftermarket. The front and rear carbs have the correct list and part number (3659 and 3902353). The date code, however, appears to be four numbers (1014). I thought 68 & 69 model years had a 3 character date code. And if they don't...the '4' should mean a 1964/74/84/94 build year. True? Did they even manufacture the 2300 model in those years? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The service replacement carbs will have the 4 digit date codes if they were made in the early 70's.
