Default wheel opinions needed

Just wanted to get a few opinions on some wheel options. I have a set of the OEM aluminums that have been polished up. Now I need the hub caps. There are two types I see.

This one

and this one

The wheels themselves are polished all over and do not have the black painted center .

The car is a white 72 so I wasnt sure if the black hub cap would break up the shiny silver just right or look terrible so what do you guys think, shiny silver cap or black trimmed cap?

I vote for the chrome one. The black cap would look better with the black centre wheels.

That is the way I am leaning. I tried to paint the centers black but after deciding it looked like crap I took the black paint off and went polished everywhere.

Well, I don't know if this will help you or not, but here is my old 81 that had the polished wheels with the chrome centers...

And here is my current 79 with the satin finished wheels with the black centers and black caps. They just aren't polished. I had them polished at one time and they looked good with the dark centers and caps also.

Just a matter of what looks better to you.

Its a tough call, if I could get the centers painted and looking nice I think I would go with the black caps but I just cant get a good line going with the black paint. I wish I could the wheels as shiny as those, for some reason these just arent shining up as nice as I would have hoped. I did 400 grit, 600, 1000, 2000, mothers polish and then simichrome polish. they look nice but no where near chrome shiny.

I'll add to that if you want to use the black cap and you can't get the black in the center looking as good as you would like at least paint the slots black to match the cap.

definitely painting the slots. I taped over the holes and sprayed them from behind to paint the backs of the wheels. they actually look pretty good. im just such a perfectionist that any flaw hurts my pride.
