For about 4 years now, I have been the only one in my family to own a Corvette. Sure, it's 30 years old, and a little on the raggedy side, but it's a 'vette, and it's mine. Now, my brother has decided to be a big copycat, PLUS a one-upper.......he went out and bought a 97 Corvette!!!! Got a pretty smokin' deal on it, too......I am so damn jealous I could eat my own liver!!! AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't call a 97 Corvette the top of the Corvette food chain. Nice cars, but nice examples can be bought for 12 to 14 grand very easily. If you lust for one you should sell your C3. What year is your car?
Meh, I've driven early C5's and the '97 is nothing to be jealous over. Total different animal compared to the C3, but only thing is does better is comfort and cross country trips. If I want a comfortable road trip car I hop in my BMW.
It's not so much that his car is better than mine, (which it is, btw, he paid $10,750, and it is in really, really nice shape) it's that I'M the one in this family who drives around in a 'vette, not him!
I'm only half serious, we joke around about it, but still......
bmw's are beautiful refined machines.the gf's convertable 330 something has an amazing mechanism for the top going up and down and i love to watch it.then again i watch water bugs crawl around at work too.it handles well on the road and has great pickup.only thing is my 01' intrigue would kick it's azzzz! god bless america.
Yeah, but your vette will get way more looks and attention.
I had a modified 99 C5, and even though I loved the car, it never was overly inspiring. Oddly enough I replaced my vette with an 06 GTO and get more people coming up to me to talk about the GTO than my vette.
With that said, I am now on the hunt for a C3... To me it is a timeless car that will always turn heads.
I have been tempted by C5 prices to buy one... you know, a car for rainy days or long trips, heavy stop and go traffic or extremely hot weather.. those types of conditions.
I'd take a C5 as a DD any day of hte week, but I'd never replace my C3 with one. You have nothing to be jealous of! Yours is going up in value or at least holding it's own, while his is going down.
