Climate control panel 1982 corvette does it light up?

Not directly lit, it gets illuminated via a bulb in the trim above the center a/c duct/grille, the bulb looks like a #194 with a different shaped end, to concentrate the light output. Peace,,,moosie

I have mine apart and went and looked at the bulb - sure enough it says "558" on it...I just checked out Napa's web site and they list a "558" bulb for sale...

Even with the bulb on - there is very little light that gets to the console. I took a small drill bit and drilled out the plastic lens.
Seems to me the lens was blue , so it'd be impossible to get half-decent light outta the thing. I've done this with 2 corvettes and found it made a difference. No one will ever know the lens is gone.
