I used the testors also 7vette6, I later heard that it would have been better to use the testors lacquer, and then put a little clear over it when dry. ???? No complaints with the plain testors though, they look good.
Hate to hi jack ,but I have a nice used gas lid emblem if anyone is looking for one. Its not perfect ,but its presentable. $25.00 shipped let me know if you want a picture.
It was snowy this weekend and I was bored so I walked out into the garage to play with the Corvette. The emblems on the car have been bugging me for a while because they looked really ratty. I was going to buy new ones until I discovered they are $40 each. So before spending the coin I decided to look in the forum and see what others had done.... BINGO...
At trip to the hobby store and $6 latter I was in business. Thanks again to the help on this forum. It's hard to beat this simple repair for getting a big bang for your buck.
Thanks for the info. I replaced my '75 medallions with brand new emblems for a '72. The black paint justs pops out of the flags and I always need to superglue it back in. Haven't even started the engine yet!
Well, not perfect, but definitely looks a little better...

I used Testors #1104 Dark Red. Looks pretty close.
This is the fuel door emblem. Of course, the darn thing broke when I tried to unscrew the nut on the other side. I didn't really apply any significant force and one of the posts just snapped off. I will have to get some double sided tape to better secure it.
Wow that looks excellent, well done. What exactly did you do to make it look like that..... paint color ? brush type? Also how do you post pictures ?
