Default 2 issues with my 76

1st issue..wipers...When i slide the switch over i get nothing. When I push the switch in for wash, the wipers will move a few inches and then just park. I pushed several times, and then got them to cycle through one time. After pushing it about ten times I only got them to cycle two times, every other time they just went a few inches and then back to park. I've read a ton of posts about wiper problems, just not one with my issue. I looked for ***** under the steering wheel, and there is one with a screw type thread on it towards the left side of the panel, and have turned it all the way clockwise and counterclockwise...not sure what it does. the other **** under the steering wheel is hard plastic and doesn't budge...

2nd issue...horn doesn't work, and i was just going to try one of the contact kits you see on ebay, does this sound like a good starting point?

Thanks in advance for any help on these issues, I'm not much of a "fixer" guy, but I'm not totally helpless either

I had a similar, possibly the same, issue with the wipers on my '76, they only worked when I pushed and held the switch at the wash position. I replaced both the motor, and switch to no avail. Finally while replacing the radio, I also replaced the center dash. It was cracked just below the vents, and poorly cut to fit a modern radio by the previous owner. Afterwards the wipers began working correctly. After some research I decided the problem must have been a ground issue with the switch, with I believe grounds through the center dash. But, I'm no expert, so ymmv.

Good Luck

I agree with jn76vette it sounds like an ungrounded switch.
Have you tried grounding the horn contact to confirm the horns blow ?

Thanks JN, I will check the dash bezel for a crack, i also have a poorly cut job the previous owner put a cd player in. Is there a way to reapir tis if it is cracked?

Roger, I haven't had the horn button off yet, does it just pop off to ground the contact? Thanks
