its not the cable or lube.i replaced mine and it still did the same thing. gets up to about 50 then starts bouncing. i also replaced the speedometer housing that the cable goes into. still the same. i purchased a new drive gear but the guy gave me a driven one. so i have to wait to find out if that helps. mine also was off my 20 mph. anybody out there know the cure for this. will the gear help?

Most of the parts houses sell a screw on adapter to grease the cable .Un-hook the cable at the tranny screw on the adapter and shoot several pumps of white lithium grease (not to much) and hope it works if not your only out a couple of bucks. It worked on my 75.
