I have read some of the previous threads concerning this and recently viewed some nice C5 Z06 wheels. I am just curious what size tires and rims would you run without having to make modifications. I'd like to go with 18" rims, possibly 18x9.5 in the front and 18x10.5 in the rear. Looking to fill out the fender well and not stick out, if possible.
I've heard of using 2.5" adapters on the rear and 3" adapters on the front.
I am in the market to freshen up the ride, but don't want to make a huge mistake and buy the wrong rims and tires.
Totally agree Mark. I actually talked with Ryan about his ride and absolutely loved his setup. I just wasn't able to confirm the rim fit and wheel sizes.
Why would you put C5 Z06 wheels on a C3 Corvette. You should leave the stock wheels and tires on. Modifying the car like that would make your car period incorrect and you would lose points at all Concourse Events.

I'm getting a lot of PMs asking what wheels, what size, what adapter size, and what I had to do to make everything fit, etc. So here goes:
C5 Z06 wheels, front 17x9.5 with 275/40-17 tires and 2.5" adapters
rear, 18x10.5 with 295/35-18 tires and 2" adapters. I had to make some modifications to get the 10.5 wheels and 295/35-18 tires to fit in the rear, inside the wheel wells.
1. Offset trailing arms
2. Modify my sway bar and mounts
3. Notch the frame

I wouldn't go with z06 as they are harder to fit due to width.
I have 2inch and 2.5inch adapters if your interested
Also have grand sport corvette rims(z06 fitment) and tires but you would need offset trailing arms.
