The frame was in real nice shape which was hard to believe with the help of my wife who is a tomboy/gearhead and my sons friend harry we should make our deadline.
the pup in the pics would grab tools and run out of the shop in one door and out the other end screwdrivers and hammers seemed to be his favorite these are his mug shots.

I guess some of you were wondering what I was doing while they were painting well other than assembling the suspension I was doing all the cleaning ,repairing and painting the underbody back on and rolling, loaded up and trucking it home.
I did give up on the original front clip and bought a used 68 front clip in good shape in fact it was a no hit, however I did repair a few minor cracks, paint the inside and reattach all the brackets. the long l88 hood and the old front clip will be sold the original doors are no good but I do have another pair
I just spent the last half hour enjoying your rebuild. Really helps to see a journey like this when I'm cooped up in the house with a foot and a half of snow on the ground outside. Had the snowblower out 2 times to do the driveway, today, and had the chance to look at my '72 in the back corner of the garage. I'll be back to go through your pics many times before spring arrives. Thanks for all the good thoughts and feelings.

really nice, keep up the work and soon you (and others who see) will reap the reward of your hard work...I have been there and done that on my 67 and most rewarding thing I ever did car wise. only down side is I have started redoing some of my earlier restoration I did in the late 80s-early 90s....oh well things do need touch up after a few years
Excellent work!!! It sure brought back alot of memories. I've been restoring my 69 for quite some number of years too. Each time I would see a step that you went through, I would think "yep, I remember that." Well, Now you passed me up. I still have the body on a dolly. Like Duane said, it's hard to get motivated when there's so much snow. But..................Summer is coming
Take care, good luck on the rest of the adventure and thanks for the post.
In that period of time I missed a few mos here and there but I had a huge advantage my wife has been there most of the time getting right in and helping with the dirty work, going to carlisle and helping to find all the little parts and cleaning up after I make huge messes. but the best part is the motivation.Thank you for all your kind comments.I realize that a lot of guys would have done things different but thats why I call it a clean up and not a restore.again Thank you.
