Electronic Ignition

I'm putting HEI streetfire electronic ignition on my '73 stingray, and I was wondering if there was some type of adaptor or something that will keep my cable driven tach working without having to replace.

Will the ignition shielding work with the larger HEI cap?

I'm not sure on that one......Experts ???
They have small diameter cap models....little more money....I actually need one so I can use my round air cleaner...!

Let's hear from someone use uses their sheilding...(I don't)

I am leaning towards the Pertronix ignitor III, that way I can get the electronic ignition and still stay original appearing. ...and keep all the shielding.

Tach drive HEI From Dragonfire $120.00 dollars complete.Shielding will work with a little Mod. and Effort.

I installed the Pertronix Ignitor III in my LS 5 for that very reason. Works great.

Trust me. You're going to be very,very happy with it.I tried the Pertronix before this one and it left me stranded without a auto parts store that carried them in stock to buy a immediate replacement.With this, all parts are stock items at any Autoparts store if needed.
