put the car out of gear, put a mark on the drive shaft with the valve steam of the tire at the 12 o'clock. rotate the drive shaft and count the number of times the tire moves past the 12 0'clock
there is a code stamped into the bottom of the case. if you get it up in the air, there should be a two letter code stamped on the bottom of the case in front of the spring. if i remember correctly (and am not confusing years) it should start with the letter "O" and then be something like OM (3:36 i believe) or OK (that should be the 3:08 for the automatic applications). there is a post somewhere on the forum that has a link to all the codes. PM me if you can't find it i think i have all that in a file on one of my computers and i'll be more than happy to send it to you. (of course you realize you have a posi rear, i assume you are just looking for brand and gear info??)
Ok got up under car rear differential it had (OH 151) & (W9E1) stamped on the bottom fwd of the spring....
