Has anyone ever heard of a company by the name of PS that made some aluminum big block Chevy blocks for Can Am race teams in the 70's? Company was later bought by Bullworks. Not sure of the spelling of these names or if it is even accurate.

I always thought the Can Am blocks were a joint venture of GM and Alcoa.

IIRC prior to their merger with Alcoa it was Reynolds did some high-silicone sleeveless BBC's for McLaren. Semantics, really. While my having previously owned a CanAm car at one time doesn't make me an authority on the subject, I cannot say that I'm familiar with PS or Bullworks. Wish I could be of more help.

Thanks Charlie. I had not heard of any other producers of aluminum blocks either until recently and the person who told me was unsure of the names as well. Just thought I'd try a longshot.
BTW...................is that your car in the picture? It's a beauty. Any idea where I could find a set of those valve covers? I would like a set for my Can Am engine.

No, but that is me in it. That's a carbon fiber Reynard 98E chassis. Sweet ride! I'll look into the valve covers, but don't hold your breath. Still have a Crower/McKay BB injector, btw.

Ok.................more information.
The company was Butrick P&S Co. (Precision & Service Co.) in California, possibly back in the 90's. They cast up some aluminum big block Chevy blocks. Might have been in Anaheim? Not sure.
