Default A/C Blower fan?

If I understand this correctly, all fan motors spin the same speeds. The fan size and pitch are what is used to blow/force the air into the ducts. Therefore I would only need to get a C4 fan not the whole unit. And just unbolt my fan off and place the C4 on ,then make 3/4" spacer. Does this sound right?

Correct; all you really need is the C4 squirrel cage and the spacer. If memory serves, the spacer is 1/2". The C4 fan is supposed to be 1/2" larger than the C3 fan.

Dave. Take off the plastic vent on pass. side windshield wiper bay. It runs along the lip of edge of fender. Two 3/8 headed screws close to fan relay will remove it. Then you can look into this area and see the blower wheel and the outside air shut off damper. This will give you some idea of the clearance you need when you add the larger wheel. Blower wheels move air volume based on these criteria. Wheel diameter/length, pitch/number of blades and rotational speed. mike...

Thanks, I just took out my blower fan today. I was planning on going to the salvage yard next week (my next days off) and finding a bigger unit. I may just purchase the squirrel cage from the bay though. Then make a spacer. Thanks...

the spacer should be between 3/4 and 1 inch.. the c4 fan has 2 extra fins on the squirrel cage and is pitched a bit differently....

I just purchased a C4 wheel. Got it at the auto store for $13.78! out the door. But on first inspection it has a deep back where it slides onto the shaft. If I remember correctly, my 77 wheel is flush in the back. Can anyone remember what there's was? I'm not home to make sure or not. Thanks.
