I, for the life of me, can not get a good recommendation of a place to get my car painted, currently in north california, car goes to arkansas once a year, and the internet is of no help. MAACO is not an option... i know how they prep a car. Money isn't the issue, it's word of mouth, everytime i find a place their is multiple people saying no. Looking for a known place willing to paint my car right. Simple dark blue and clear coat.
Why is MACCO not an option? The MACCO in Sacramento (North Highlands) does good work, of course it won't be the $199.00 special and you will have to pay for quality work. They have recently done a lot of classic cars and even have a swap meet in their parking lot (Next one is this saturday 2/19) I had them paint this 1970 Impala, this picture is at Hot August Nights 2010 and the blue firebird in the background had a new paint job also, he said he paid $9.000.00 for the paint job, and my MACCO job looked better.
If you pre the car and bring your own paint and clear coat, MAACO is the best place for them to paint They do so many. They just do not spend much time on prep and taping. Less than $1000 for painting.. You could also use "rustoleum" . There was a thread here about the guy who did it and it really urned out good
I may be opening up the can of worms here but this is what I did, my car is a daily driver and looks as good as if it came out of the paint booth last week and my paint is 3 years old and did not " self destruct "
as many hoped it would who have paid over $7,000 to $10,000 grand to have theirs done.
