i'm changing the front clip on my 69. ( incorrect clip on car )
The heater core needs to be changed, AC car.
Should I wait until I remove the front clip before tackling this job?
or doe I have to remove the core from inside the car?
thanks
You can do the job without removing the front clip. I heard non AC vette owner did the swap from the engine bay. Mine is AC and I had to remove the heater box from the inside.
I did mine from the engine compartment, non AC.
Most posts with AC cars needed to be removed from inside the car. Here my thread which you might find helpful though.
With the clip removed, obviously it's much easier to do from the engine side of the fire wall.

I have a non-A/C big block and removed the core from the engine side. I remember having difficulty getting the blower box re-installed with the new heater core in place...the hose fittings were causing a problem. Ended up taking the heater box out inside the car and replacing the seals. Now I've found that the defroster actuator is leaking, so it will be coming out again. This is not an easy job.
mine is a AC small block and I did it from the cockpit side. It really isn't that bad of a job, just time consuming. Get a AC seal rebuild kit while you are at it and redue it all.
