Im looking for some good car magazines to subscribe to to help me learn more about cars. It doesnt just have to be geared towards a certain car brand. Just american cars in general.
Stop by any large newsstand or the book sellers (Barnes & Noble, BDalton, WaldenBooks, etc) These outlets usually have a large selection of magazines. Pick three or four of the auto magazines which appear to interest you. Take them home and read them.

Subscribe to the ones you like.
You even have time to go through them in the store.
IF you see something you like by all means buy it. I don't think there is the "perfect" magazine. They all have to appeal to a broad reader base so there is diversification in the articles. You may find you don't want to subscribe to anyone in particular and a visit to the book store once a month to check out what's there and pick out what you like is the way to go. You can also go on the internet to the various websites and check out a good part of what a particular magazine title is all about.

If you're a guy who wants to learn some basics and "how to" about a variety of American cars, especially "muscle cars" to improve performance on a budget, then I recommend Car Craft. Its a fun, informative and easy read..... and the subscription rate is very low at only $24 for 24 issues. You'll especially like the articles and "Ask Anything" columns by Jeff Smith, who previously worked at Hot Rod and Chevy HI Performance.
.....Hey Car Craft, don't I get a free subscription for this plug?
Sorry... 14 bucks for 24 issues.
