82 CE interior color

82 CE interior color
I have the silver color for spraying some of the interior parts. The steering column is an odd color. Is it the 82 charcoal color? It looks to be kind of a mix of brown and dark gray. Charcoal is the only color that may be close. Anyone know if this is it. It is an 82 CE that I am working on.

Unfortunatly I know exactly the problem you are facing. 
That Brown/gray color code is a mystery. I have been unsuccesfull several attempts to get a Color Code on it. I had a Paint shop use their "Electronic Color Reading Gun" to shoot and Match the Dark Brown from the Hood Decal. I have used that paint to re-do the running boards, grills & Vents, and tail-light coves. I also used it to touch-up a scratch on the steering colum. But it is far from "un-noticable".
At one point a few years ago I replaced the whole Guage Bezel, and in the Colector Editions that too is painted with that same "Brown/Gray".
Perhaps if someone on the forum knows who manufactures those, they must have a paint code (or formula).
Don't know if this helps, but if you find that paint available from someone, put me down for a can!!!

I found this reference on another forum. I cannot confirm the actual codes, but it might help.
DUPONT paint codes are:
exterior D8259G
Interior D8259J
taillight D8262J
interior brown D8262J
taillight is a single stage flex add for front and rear caps Dupont2322S interior brown usea dd305S med gloss.
As you have learned, where regular production 82s had black interior trim, the CEs got a dark brown.
