Cool stuff. I have gotten my '70 through twice. The first time, the mechanic had to adjust my carb to pass. The second time in August of 2010, it went through perfect on the first try. Next test = August 2012.

I love to see these cars passing emissions. It shoots a hole in the tree-hugger's argument that these cars are dirty and should be taken off the road. Tune 'em right, and they run more or less as clean as new cars. If you want to outlaw internal combustion engines for personal transportation, I'll have a conversation with you about the feasibility of that. But if you want to take my car off the road for being "dirty", I'll show you my emission stictker and invite you shut up!

Grats to rihwoods!

Ours in Calif is bi-annual.....we use to have a rolling 30 year exemption, but the state dropped that just before my 78 would have been exempt...now,any car from 1976 and newer must smog forever...
My 69 is exempt...lol

Congratulations. I have been through this myself. I have a 72,73 and 75 mainly because they do not have to go though emissions. But on my 86 its checked every two years...and I do cross my fingers. I also failed my last test because of the EVAP hose routing. They found a leak in a rubber hose under the car which caused it to fail. But $150 later it passed the test. What a good feeling it is when a car with 165,000 miles can pass the test and its good for another two years.

Man I love AZ....two places that require smog checks, Tucson and Phoenix. Nothing like Cali smog checks.... and if you insure it as a collector car... no smog period.
