Who cares about what C6 owners think. Get over it. For C6 owners, a Corvette is all about image and transportation. I've never been impressed. If I wanted a C6, I would buy one. Just don't want one. I'd rather have my new Honda for every day driving. To me, a C6 is just another car. I don't even notice them. I'm much more excited and impressed when I see any C3, even one with cracked fiberglass and in primer. I only have Covette envy those rare times I see a C2. Maybe I'm a snob.
You would rather drive a *** honda versus an American C6? GMAFB
Judging from what you have wrote, the problem is your attitude towards C6 drivers. I own both a C3 and a C6 and a classic GTO. I wave at all Vettes and most old cars also. (not Fords though)
No attitude toward C6 owners in general. Like I said in the original post, there are C6 drivers that have progressed through the models and love corvettes in general and the C6 is awesome engineering! I can't afford one but if I could, I'd have one myself. It's not jealousy either. It's just the attitude of some owners. I think those same owners are people that have never owned a corvette before.
But because you are on this forum, read this thread and still have a C3 makes you a "corvette guy" so I have no doubt that folks like you will always wave and probably make good conversation at a gas station or auto show. I would never stereotype owners of a specific car style. My actual observations were my reason for posting.
When I bought my 69 last July, I was towing it the 400 miles from Sacramento to LA. Along the way, a C5 passed me by, the driver blew his horn and waved as he went by. On the same trip, an 18 wheeler pulled up on the side of us and maintained position until I glanced over at the driver. He gave a thumbs up and continued on! My son really got a kick out it.

That's awesome! That's how we all should be. And just like things that happened riding with my dad when I was a kid, that's gonna stick in your son's head. I'm guessing he got the fever right then.
I've been a Corvette owner for 35 years now. I have learned over the years that new Corvette owner are basically ignorant about the wave thing. I always wave and if they don't I just chock it up to another ignorant new owner. They will eventually learn and will be out waving their azzes off, with the rest of us. Keep waving that's how they learn.
My best friend and I bought vettes last year around the same time. I went with a 1970 and he went with a 2006. We are two entirely different people but the same age (23). He bought the car to be flashy, and sporty (and in debt) and has never wrenched a day in his life. I bought mine to take apart, rebuild, drive and repeat.
Needless to say he had never heard about the wave and came up to me one day shocked when a C4 at a light smiled and waved to him. He now waves to all of them. He just wasn't aware of the culture. I picked it up in high school when I got my first motorcycle and had all the Harley guys waving to me.
I think a lot of it is people not knowing about the wave or the culture that goes with corvettes. I mean my buddy who bought his couldn't even tell you why it was referred to as a C6. Is that bad? No not necessarily, its the reason he bought the new flashy one, but I'm training him slowly.
I know some of the original VW beetle guys have a signal. One headlight lights up, kind of like a wink. Only in a beetle. lol Our wave is much cooler lol Al
Just wave...you're the one in the right!
Does it make you feel good?
Do you like to wave?
Are you satisfied when you finish waving, just because...If you answered YES; well then, YOU WIN all the way to your heart!
Keep it up!

thanks fonz 69, Looks like our cars area matched set.
I went for a 30 mile back roads cruise yesterday and got waved at about 10 times and applauded once (by a volvo driver). Only got one middle finger wave by the guy in a pick up that I passed coming out of a curve. Sorry, I just couldn't lift......
Owning a C3 and a C5 is such fun! I have to admit more people seem interested in my '73 than the 2003 EB Z06.
BTW I wave to all Corvette's, roadsters, neat old cars etc. Hubby says it because I have a Car Fetish...lol
Today Hubby and I took the Z for a drive and I commented that I couldn't believe we didn't see any Corvettes on the HWY. Sorta dissapointing I might add.
