Today I took my car in to have it tinted. They did a fine job, but an hour after picking it up I noticed 2 cuts on the steering wheel where they layed something sharp on it and cut it on the top and bottom. When I went back he accused me of lying to try to get a new wheel!!! I had put this wheel on in Nov and today was the first time with it out of the garage since. The wheel was PERFECT. I pushed the issue and he paid me for a new wheel or recover. And told me to never walk in his door again!!! So take pics before you leave your ride with anyone, he seemed nice, but turned on me and said they never make mistakes! It was ever apparrant since other indentaions were still in the wheel that go away in a couple of days, he called me a liar basically 20 times. I learned a lesson. My wheel will be going to Chuck next week!!

sorry to hear Jeff

i never left the shop , when they limo-tinted my back window.

sounds like a lazy worker used yer wheel as a work-bench , while doing a cut, instead of getting outa the car & walking over to the shop bench

Pete.

It really looks good, but I just dont understand the audacity of a guy who claims they don't ever make mistakes. From now on I will be the guy who stands and watches!!! I very seldom EVER let anyone touch any vehicle I own, but tinting is out of my league. The Batmobile is looking good Pete!

Mine won't leave my sight from now on! The guy reluctantly wrote me a check to cover the cost of replacement wheel,(only after I grabbed the door handle and said I will see you in small claims court) and that is the only reason I did not name the place. But he snapped at me and told me to never walk through his doors again.....like I would have. The only drawback being the tint, if it does not lay or cure properly I will need to take it to another shop to get fixed, but he said the film was lifetime. I actually felt sorta bad after, I really don't like confrontation, but right is right, and they damaged it. oh, when I got home, I folded the seats down and there was a footprint on the back of one and some sort of glue stuff on the other that I will have to clean off! I am sure that was there too!!! You live and learn!!

That stinks they cut your wheel..only way I could see them doing that is getting in your car with a cutter in their hand..if you don't know..window tint is cut and fitted to the outside of the window not the inside so all cutting should be done outside only and nothing inside..that's probably why he was so adament on not doing the damage..if you ever get something tinted again watch how its done..its actually very easy..no real special tools but a break off box cutter a hair dryer and a squeegee..I haven't let anyone work on mine..doubt I ever will..not so much that I don't know people who could or can I just know how to so don't need them..I really think a good service to people would a be a place to post good places to take your car..I couldn't imagine not knowing how to do anything but put gas in..I don't think I would own this car if I didn't..
