We all have seen threads about items found when disassembiling an original C3. I just had a surprise. First was this carpet ID tag.
No big deal right, normal stuff. Then I removed the seat belt guard which was the first time since owning the car. This is what I found. Not a piece of gold but really cool to me.
Still has the plug with code and it fits and opens the door lock. I have owned the car since 1981 and I have never been this far under the seat. I am wondering what else I might find. Just wanted to share. mike...

Reason: speling oh, spelling
Thats a neat find. Since it fits the doors you know it belongs with the car. But how did it get thier? I was thinking the previous owner put it there in case they got locked out, but its the door key. If they were locked out they could not get it.
I do not have a clue. I bet some of the guys have seen this before. It was under the belt retractor cover so would not be accessible without removing the seat and this guard. mike...
My neighbor across the street bought a non-running '57 Bel Aire about 15 years ago. What he found under the seat and **** carpet on the floor was roaches (not the six legged kind), and used condoms.

As I was taking apart my center console... I found a broken off red fingernail.
I don't even now who it was now.... but it gave me a big smile....
Nice Find! Always somthing to find with these old cars. The key was probably dropped or slide out the pocket of a driver then slid down there. Maybe even at the dealership?
I found someone elses build sheet under my passenger carpet, exactly 120 cars before mine, someone on the line must have found it lying on the ground next to my car and thought it must have belonged to it and threw it in just prior to the carpet being fitted.
I was dissapointed because my build sheet was nowhere to be found.
One day I might find the owner of this build sheet and send it to them.
that is a great find. Mike, remember that parts car I got? Well someone had been in it before, bubbaed up the interior and replaced the carpet. Beleive it or not, I only found three coins in the entire car... I was pretty bummed 10 cents...

I'm banging my head trying to figure out which 3 coins add up to $.10
When I took my carpet up to apply dynomat, I found the plug in the passenger floor pan was missing and carpet underlayment very wet. Never reached to the actual carpet so never knew it. But solved problem why I could not get smell out of the car. Plugged it up, sealed with Goop and no more smell.
