car cover advice
So my new car cover came today from corvette central. My concerns are in the installation instructions says .
If your vehicle has delicate paint, such as lacquer, exercise caution. Some re-painted vehicles are not painted properly and may blister.
So the cover is silverguard plus made by coverking and it is breathable. Never covered my car before and I know the car has been repainted from white to black by some other owner in the passed. How long a go and what paint I don't know.
Am I worrying about nothing. I do not want any surprize someday when that cover comes off.
Any help or 2 cents would be great .
Thanks Buffaloc3

You want to ensure there is no moisture trapped between the paint and the cover. Breathable covers elminate most of that concern by allowing moisture to evaporate.
If it's windy where you live, wind motion can move the cover enough to polish spots on the body. Flannel lined covers (or the equivalent) help reduce that risk.

Just a suggestion from 30+ years of experience. I like to use old cotton bed sheets to cover my cars when in the garage.
Reasons being:
1. Easy to install and remove.
2. Easy to wash and get clean.
3. Won't scratch like a heavy car cover.
Yes they aren't pretty, like a nice fitted cover but the benefits outweigh the looks.
I would never cover a car outside. Just a little wind and it could ruin your paint.

I must agree.. I see into a lot of peoples garages all the time(ups driver) and all the old school guys have sheets on the cars. I have to admit it sure is easy to clean..and just fold it away.. california kind would almost fit a car.. LOL
