Default Windshiled removal and transfer

So I'm planning on removing a front windshield from a 78 and putting it in my 79, any pitfalls here I should be aware of? Is this even a good idea?

I was qouted $45.00 to remove and $45.00 to replace the windshield in my 78 by a glass company. They have a special cutter to remove the glass. I wouldn't do it myself for that money.

That's the route I would take also.

its eassy to get done at a good price, but finding the right guy to go a c3 is important.
seems to always be an issue with the gap at the top of the windshield from whatI have seen..

If you even have to ask don`t do it you will break it. For a hundred bucks you can have it done right and if THEY break it you get a new windshield.

Another thing I'm wondering is do you have to buy some sort of molding to go around the windshield? Some shops are telling me I do and others aren't mentioning it.

I cleaned up and repainted my old trim. You may need new clips that hold the trim in place. Good time to clean up and paint the top of the bird cage. When I had my new windshield installed the tech ended up filling the gap with some professional black caulking.
