Default 1st Long Ride....

Went on 60 mile ride today. First long ride with my new headers and side pipes. Also my new Edelbrock 1406 with an electric choke. Had 2 and 3 . By far the most ever. Must be the side pipes. People really notice them.

My '72 felt smoother and much more powerful than I remember. With the top down, those side pipes are loud. Really loud. I quickly became used to the sound but my ears hurt a little when I arrived home. I may use my hardtop on the Buellton trip. The Edelbrock 1406 is reliable and smooth. Glad I changed over from the Q-Jet.

Down McKean road past Calero Reservoir, then down Uvas Road past Uvas Reservoir then through Morgan Hill back to San Jose. My favorite ride in my area. Yeah. Sunday is the day for classics!! Hooked up 68 Camaro for about 5 miles. Super nice car.

Exchanged waves with a gorgeous black 68 Camaro convertable just as I was pulling out onto San Ramon Valley Blvd.....he was leaving a smokescreen though it was still a nice car

I usually do the 680/Sunol/Foothill Rd route, or if I have more time Sunol/Palomares/Crow Canyon Rd & back home. Last weekend when I was test-driving my new stereo I ended up on Redwood Rd in Castro Valley, drove along a twisty two lane road alongside a reservoir, and through Moraga, what a beautiful drive can't wait to do it with the top off as it was kind of drizzly that day

I had a real nice ride yesterday in the 68 until I felt the back end wiggling. Big spike in the left rear tire How to ruin a perfectly good drive.
