Default Driver door courtesy light

Guys - I am missing something somewhere. My passenger door courtesy light works perfectly - Pin hooked up to white wire! I ordered a new drivers door pin and installed it - but there are two wires - white and black. Can anyone tell me how to hook this up. I know there is currenton the drivers side because the two wires touched and sparked. I see how the white wire just pushes into the white plastic tip on the back side of the passenger courtesy pin.
Help! Seems so simple.
Thanks
Jeff

I don't have mine in front of me but I think I recall both wires going to the white piece at the end of the switch. The contacts should be aligned so that when the switch is closed both make contact. Going from memory, one may be the key in ignition alarm, the other dome light...
