Default New Break Calipers Recommendations ?

Hello,

I plan to replace my Break Calipers. Do you have some Recommandations which are the best compared to price ?
I'm just a Cruiser (no Racer) and want some that do not leak

Thanks in Advance

If you drive the car regularly, original lip seal type stainless steel sleeved replacement calipers will be fine. If the car sits more than it is driven, O-ring sleeved calipers are the way to go.

All of the aftermarket providers carry the sleeved calipers.

I replaced my rears with SS O-Ring seals from Vette Brakes and Products. Good company to deal with, I had a problem with one of the calipers 11 months later and I got a replacement caliper with no questions asked.

Their package of 4 calipers comes with new brake lines, hoses, pads etc. Also a nice install DVD. You can get them powder-coated if you like by VBP. I am very pleased with the calipers, and lines.

The only thing I didn't like was the fit of their new brake pads--very tight on original brake rotors. I ended up replacing them with Wagner Thermo Quiet pads and they fit well and are completely silent.

VB&P . and they are all on sale right now. Just bought and installed my 2nd set from them a couple weeks ago. Very satisfied with the quality of the product. Very nice brake systems. I used the SS O-ring calipers. I had no issues with any fits or pads.

I have a set from VB&P that I installed 16 years ago and they are still holding up perfectly.

:

I checked their side, what is the difference between :

1965-82 SS Rebuilt O-Ring Insulated Caliper Full Car Set

1965-82 SS Rebuilt O-Ring Caliper Full Car Set

1965-82 SS Rebuilt Lip Seal Caliper - Full Car Set

Which would you prefer ?

Ormaybe a other one ?

Item #2: 1965-82 SS Rebuilt O-Ring Caliper Full Car Set. Nice set with SS bleeders, too. Unless you need the extra insulation of kit #1... but, normal driving/braking doesn't require it, I think.

This is a nice, complete kit with lines, pads, fluid, the little clips that help you install the pads, etc. You can also get them powder-coated if you desire.

I believe the calipers above are remanufactured Delco-Moraine, but do check to see if they are... if you want identical to original.

Here is a pic of the ones I put on last year:

This may not be needed if your not going to race your vette.

Hi KDF, you spend some time in Germany ?

To All:

I wrote 3 E-Mails (1 through this forum and 2 direct on their page) to VBP but got no answers back.

Do they not sell to overseas ?

Thanks
Frank

Another VBP satisfied customer here. I drove over to their shop just two weeks ago and bought the set of o-ring calipers they have on sale now for $303. Can't beat the price or quality. And, they are super friendly to deal with.
