ted vernon (i met him years ago down here in south florida) is a kind of local "celebrity" of sorts. been into loads of things but mostly cars. was (and may still be) a big studebaker guy for years, buying and selling anything studebaker. decided to make a movie about wrestling (from the old days like the antonina rocco days). a friend of mine was cast as the referree of many of the bouts, and i had sold him a mid 50's mercedes benz adenhower sedan that wound up in the movie also. around here, if it is wierd, strange or just plain outragious, you can usually find ted vernon attached to it in some way. very interesting guy to say the least.
I wouldn't be surprised if most of these (how ever many were actually built) wound up being shipped overseas to a country like Saudi Arabia. Back in the day that was where the market was for this kind of stuff.
ive met and talked with les dunham on a few occassions, nice guy. a guy i know has one of these and regardless of what you think from the photo they are pretty nice looking in person and the craftsmanship is great. google les dunham, he did the cars for the bond film live and let die as well as the main car for Supafly.

There's one local to Savannah, pops up on Craigslist fairly regularly... think he wants $10k. I've seen it listed at least 3 times, I doubt it sold yet.
