Both auto windows in my '79 vette have dropped about an inch. The Haynes manual doesn't cover how to adjust them. It's getting cold and drafty here in New Zealand and I'd appreciate some advice on how to fix them.
Jim, If it is simply a matter of window adjustment, remove the door panel and with the window in the up position, you have easy access to adjuster bolts. There are two for height, two for lateral placement and if I recall correctly two more for rotational placement.
It seems unlikely that it is simply a matter of adjustment for you, though since there is very little adjustment to be made by this method.
Have you checked your window springs and/or the condition of the bushings that the window rides on? How about the teeth in the scissor mechanism?
Hopefully it's just the adjusters, but I would give it a good hard look inside the door when you have the panel off.
