I am buying a two post lift, but I am concerned about storing a vehicle on the lift with the suspension extended, I found this adaptor to lift a car with supporting the suspension. What are your thoughts?
I have hung mine for months and others cars for months with the wheels hanging. I dont understand how or why everyone thinks this is bad for the suspension.

I was always told that to leave everything hanging was bad for the bushings and the dampers at they were being left at full (or greater than full) deflection for a long period. The suspensions are aligned and designed to spend most of their time at angles considered nominal... leaving everything hanging is past that design spec.
Could be crap, could be not crap. To each their own.

It's not so much for the suspension components, but the frame and structure of the car. It (the car) is designed to be supported through the tires and suspension, not by 4 pads along the sides of the frame. Over time, the weight of the engine in front, and the axle, etc in the rear, can cause the frame to "droop"...
The lift I am looking at is a symetrical arm lift. When the arms are facing fore and aft, the pads center to center is 102" when fully extended. More than enough for the wheel base of a C3. The lift I am concidering is a 9,000 lb commercial duty Atlas. Al
