Yes Sir; I used to belong to the Rod-TiQues of Kansas City, A member went out & bought a 32 Ford with a tree, at least 15 inches in diameter growing up through the middle. We all laughed, until we cried. In six mos. we were laughing out the other side, it was beautiful. Have a nice one. Gene

I remember that car club.
As far as that poor old vette or whats left of a few old vettes or ????
Anything would be better than just letting it set there.I doubt that it would be practical to restore but it would make someone a fun project.
resto rod,(Rusto rod!!),custom,or???

I think Alan nailed it, unless your last name is Trump, that thing would be a bottomless money pit. Sad.

Bottomless money Pit, I'm sure I'm working on one of those right now. I bought an 1980 a few years back, & the guys kids called me when their father died, and asked me If I found any money in it.. LOL. Gene

I see a 63 splitty with a 68/69 front clip, 67/68 Camaro tail lights, GS flares, and a butt load of money to just make it drivable.

I just came across this after seeing the article on Jalopnik, so I wandered over here from the C4 forum. This is an interesting build with some strange combination of body parts. I would be interested to see what this would look like restored, with some paint on it. I do agree that there would be no profit on this, but it would sure make for a fun car.

If you blow up the picture I'm not sure what the fender is off of.. the angle and shape looks like 67 fenders but there are not enough openings.
The glass is probably (and reminds me) of something made by Ralph Eckler would have done in his early days. The 64 we did 13 or so years ago had similar panels on it too! They were huge flared panels front and rear and the sides looked just like the 67 side. (I'll have to pull a different picture and see if the number of fins is different). The one we did was without the flip up rear but ours had six stock lamps in it. Oh.. and an original gm big block hood.
It was a fad after 1967 came out to go with the 67 side fenders, big block hood.. the flares I could have lived without. Who knows maybe the glassed in a 68-69 side.
For us, we did this car per the customers instructions and when we stared it was a 30k mile all original car except for the different body panels. It had original shocks, carb, engine, tranny, rear end, horns, alternator, and so on... I pleaded with the customer to let up put it back right and in the two pictures on the bottom you can see his decision.

Those front fenders look '68-'69 to me, they have a huge upsweep at the beltline, a lot more "rounded" than a '63-'67 fender. Could be more modded than we suspect, if that's possible ....

Ray.. you might be right.. it looks like the nose has been hit on that side and there horizontal line is missing from the front edge.. might be from being crushed.. but probably from a 68-69... would be nice to see from the front..
