Default New Seat Assembly HELP!!!

'73 Vert:

Just got my seats back from the upholsterer. They threw out my old seat covers, so I don't have a template for installing the "button frame".

New chrome release "buttons" were installed by the upholsterer (and are hidden under the vinyl). I can just barely see them in the opening.

I hate to bring out the scalpel and start carving on the seat vinyl.

Does anyone have a little guidance (or pics of the opening):

Is that velcro? If yes, just pull apart.

No, it's not velcro. It's two pieces of sewn in plastic that fit into each other.

The Button is way up at the very top of the opening...

Well, for one thing, the two part interlocking flap is too long. It should not cover the button but be careful when you trim it as it does need to go under the lower part of the bezel after it is installed.

The best thing to do is cut and X from the upper corners of the button opening to the lower corners.

BE CAREFUL NOT TO SCRATCH THE BUTTON.

Tuck the resulting flaps down into the button opening and install the bezel making sure the top of the interlocking flaps is under the bezel so that it is secured when you screw it down to the frame.
