Those are origional optional tops from 69 to 76 and were a $500.00 dollar option. They were painted body color (I painted mine satin black) and are sought after. If they could be had for 250 there would be no question in my mind.
Don't I recall those being called "moonroofs" or something like that. I remember comming across a set that looked like those in my search for glass tops.
Those are aftermarket MOONROOFS. They were only made in 1977 and fit 68 to77. I spend over 2 years trying to find mine.
They are hard to find and much harder to find in good condition. Most have glue seperation between the edges of the glass and the fiberglass surround. If they do have that bad theyre not worth 10 bucks, but if theyre if fairly nice shape or better they are a nice option for our cars and 225 would be a steal. Again depends on condition, if its a glass glue issue or delamination problem, it CANT be fixed.
Those are aftermarket tops. Not a bad price if they are in good condition.
78 was the first year for factory glass tops.
Mike is spot on again.. The tops in the picture are aftermarket tops and they were made by MoonRoof. They used to set up across from us at Bloomington.
I've not seen a set of them in a long time!
The factory tops did not have the outer fiberglass shell, the top was all glass and again as Mike stated, they didn't start as an option until 1978.

Willcox
i was researching Corvette Summer( who hasn't) and saw those too. being a newbie I thought they were stock.
I like what dmeesq did with his.. painting the outer edge makes them look good. If you do go for them, that wouldn't be a bad idea for you.
They are not a bad quality top, just not what people are looking for these days and if I remember right they used the 70-77 t-top weatherstrips.... you'd have to count the pins to verify this though.
Yes, Wilcox is correct...they do take the early weatherstrips. They also use the original GM latching assemblies. I have had a set of them for eight years and I love them for the additional headroom they provide. That price is a steal.
